  • May -- FORD
  • June -- Beds and Long Roofs
  • July -- BBQ

Everyone at our meetings gets to vote on their favorite theme car. In December, we have another round of voting for the year's favorite theme winner. The winner of the year-end prize gets their club dues paid for the following year and a plaque.

Join Us at Our Meetings

We meet third Thursday of the month at 7PM. Doors open at 6:30 so come early and socialize. The meetings are open to everyone and you don't need to be a member. We have a wealth of knowledge, so if you're just getting (back) into the hobby, we can help. Each meeting has a theme, but bring in whatever you're working on. Our members build cars and other models too.

We're lucky to meet at the Automotive Museum in Balboa Park. However getting into our meeting room isn't nearly as obvious as we'd like. When you face the museum, there is a door way off on the right hand side. The door will be unlocked. Enter this door, go up the stairs, and we are the first room on the right. Try not to get too distracted by all the cool cars in the museum. We'll have a break so you can check those out. The picture below shows the door.

Update: The tree and the truck are gone. The door is still in the same place.

A Very Comprehensive Kit Catalog

Wondering about some of the kits in you stash? Tim Shipley found a site with an extremely comprehensive listing of all types of plastic model kits. It will also help you manage your inventory. Just poking around, I found some interesting stuff I never knew existed. So, even if you don't have some mystery kit, it's a fun place to visit.

The site is ScaleMates, and can be found at https://www.scalemates.com/kits/
